I’m Severine, an artist and gardener in London, and I come from Kanaky New Caledonia which is a tiny island in the Pacific.
I wrote my first poem (addressed to my cat) at the age of seven, and have been playing with words ever since. Writing has also been a therapeutic tool for a few years now and getting everything out once in a while is part of my self-care routine. I find pinning thoughts down into words helps keep them in check and sometimes it’s the only thing that’ll appease the growling at the back of my mind.
My mental health has taken a turn for the better this past year in a way which feels more durable than ever before, and it’s meant I have decided it was time to give Trigger Warning a shot. This experimental writing practice will consist of poems, essays and prose based on some of my experiences with anxiety and depression, therapy and art.
